Using AI Copywriting Tools for SEO - Yay or Nay? - Browser Media

Image
As artificial intelligence grows more sophisticated, it becomes harder and harder to tell whether a piece of content has been generated by a human or a robot. The use of AI for copywriting is nothing new. Back in 2017, we spoke to Phrasee CEO, Parry Malm, about how they were using AI to generate content for email marketing, with great success for their clients. As Parry explains in his interview, AI chatbots have been around since the 1960s. Since then, neural networks have become far more advanced. But can they truly replace humans as copywriters, and if so, with one of the main factors in ranking websites being the quality of the content, can AI tools be used for SEO? What are AI copywriting tools? AI copywriting software can produce content that reads as if it was written by a person. These programs use artificial neural networks to learn language, process information and then produce or improve written content based on instructions provided by the user. GPT-3 is a new g...

Is Google Search Console hiding data from you? - Browser Media

Image
Just over a month ago I wrote an article covering a fantastic piece of research from Ahrefs' Patrick Stox . The research took a deep dive into Google Search Console data and found that on average, GSC isn't showing keyword data for a large percentage of clicks.  In the data provided by Ahrefs, it was found that keywords were hidden for 46.08% of clicks , so I thought I'd take a look at 10 of Browser Media's clients to see how they are affected.   Crunching the numbers Thankfully, @Bojan_Basrak has created a super helpful Google Data Studio report that helps to identify the number of clicks that are missing keyword data. For this analysis, I have picked 10 different clients, with varying traffic levels and clicks, to see if we can spot any key trends and whether our data matches Ahrefs'.  I wanted to get a wide variety of clients with varying levels of traffic to get an understanding of the industry as a whole. The date ...

How Snap rebuilt the infrastructure that now supports 347 million daily users - Protocol

Image
In 2017, 95% of Snap's infrastructure was running on Google App Engine. Then came the Annihilate FSN project. Snap, which launched in 2011, was built on GAE — FSN (Feelin-So-Nice) was the name for the original back-end system — and the majority of Snapchat's core functionality was running within a monolithic application on it. While the architecture initially was effective, Snap started encountering issues when it became too big for GAE to handle, according to Jerry Hunter, senior vice president of engineering at Snap, where he runs Snapchat, Spectacles and Bitmoji as well as all back-end or cloud-based infrastructure services. "Google App Engine wasn't really designed to support really big implementations," Hunter, who joined the company in late 2016 from AWS, told Protocol. "We would find bugs or scaling challenges when we were in our high-scale periods like New Year's Eve. We would really work hard with Google to make sure that we were scaling it up ap...

Google to Disable Calendar Interop with Exchange Online in October - Petri.com

Image
Google has announced an important configuration change for Google Workspace customers. The company recommends that organizations should enable OAuth 2.0 to continue using Google Calendar Interop with Exchange Online after Microsoft disables Basic Authentication in October. Google Calendar Interop is a useful tool that allows Exchange Online and Google Calendar to work together. The feature lets users sync events, availability status, and calendar resources across both services to schedule meetings accordingly. Back in May, Microsoft reminded customers that it would disable Basic Authentication support in Exchange Online in October. This change will affect protocols such as POP, IMAP, RPC, MAPI, Remote PowerShell, Offline Address Book (OAB), and Exchange Web Services (EWS). The goal is to improve the security of the email service by preventing hackers from compromising user accounts with password spray attacks. Currently, the interoperability between Google Calen...
