The end-of-day totals from California public health websites for Wednesday, Feb. 24, registered 5,889 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases there have been in the state to 3,525,178. The 14-day total of new cases, 6,772, is down 84% from the Jan. 1 high of 42,268. There were 1,114 new deaths reported Wednesday, for a total of 50,990 people in California who have died from the virus. Hospitalizations continue to decline, averaging a 1% drop daily. There were 6,520 hospitalizations of people with coronavirus-related infections reported on Wednesday. That's a 71.5% drop since the Jan. 1 high of 22,853 people who needed hospital care. This seems to me to be a much-needed feature that would be completely in line with Apple's strong privacy stance. For anyone not familiar with email tracking pixels, these are usually links to single-pixel images hidden inside HTML emails. They are usually either transparent, or part of an email graphic in the footer, so they are invisible to the user… When we open the email, it triggers a download request to fetch the image from a remote server.
